Sunnundalu (Urid Dal Laddu)

A simple and healthy dessert for upcoming festive season, kids snacks or for a new mother! Ready in a jiffy, this is one bite of goodness 😍.

Ingredients

1 cup urid dal

3/4 jaggery (powder)

2 tsp cardamom powder / elaichi

1 cup clarified butter / ghee



Instructions

  • In a hot pan, roast the urid dal till its golden brown. Set it aside to cool.

  • In a blender, grind the urid dal to coarse powder.

  • If the jaggery is not powdered, blend that as well.

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the urid dal powder, jaggery and cardamom powder.

  • Add 1/2 cup of warm melted ghee and start mixing the mixture. Once all the ingredients are combined well, add ghee as needed till you are able to make laddu or firm balls.

  • Store them out for a week and in fridge for about 2 months. Enjoy !
