Idli podi or dry chutney powder is a delightful South Indian spice that is eaten with southern breakfast items like idlis and dosas. Traditionally, this has lentils like urid dal, channa dal, chillis and other ingredients but during first few weeks of postpartum we tend to avoid many those items (called as Pathiya samayal in Tamil). So my husband created this simpler version that is not only delicious but also easy on postpartum and breastfeeding mother!
