Papaya Salad(Veg Thai Style)

Som Tum or Green Papaya salad is yummy alternate to regular salad. This vegetarian version is great as starters and something very simple yet impressive on a dinner table !


Ingredients

Thin grated green papaya (raw) 2 cups

Thin grated carrots (2 nos)

Thin chopped green beans

2 pods garlic

Small pieces ginger

2 thai green chillies

1 spoon honey

1/2 tsp olive oil

Juice of 1 lime

Coarsely ground roasted peanuts

Finely chopped cilantro

Salt and pepper



Instructions

1. Put grated veggies into a bowl

2. In a mortar and pestle, hand grind -garlic, ginger, green chilies, oil, honey, salt and pepper. Once ground, add lime juice and mix well.

3. Put the mixture into the grated veggies and mix well.

4. Serve by topping the salad with coarsely ground roasted peanuts and chopped cilantro. Enjoy !
