One of my MIL's recipes, this a versatile powder which is not only yummy but perfect for meal prep. This brings out the goodness of garlic and also works well with rice/idli/dosa or as a spice to sprinkle on dry curries for an extra kick!

Ingredients
1/4 cups garlic (about 2 garlic bulbs)
1/2 cup split urad dal
1/4 cup chana dal
1 cup coriander seeds
10-12 red chillies
1 tsp cumin seeds
lemon sized tamarind
1/2 tsp oil
salt to taste
Instructions
In a hot pan, roast urid dal and chana dal separately till they turn golden brown and set them aside to cool. In same pan, add coriander and cumin seeds and roast till golden brown and set them aside to cool.
In same pan, dry roast the tamarind so its dry while grinding (cant use tamarind paste).
Now, add oil to the pan and add red chillies. Fry the red chillies for 2 minutes and set it aside with others to cool.
Once the ingredients cool down , add coriander seeds, cumin seeds, urid dal, chana dal and about 1- 1 1/2 tsp of salt in a blender and grind them into coarse consistency. Set it aside.
In same blender, grind the garlic and tamarind. Add this mixture to dry ground powder and mix well.
Serve this with some hot rice or idlis/dosas ! Enjoy !
Note : Store the powder in airtight container for 1-2 months.
