Peanut Chutney

An Andhra recipe which is quick and easy chutney to pair up with South Indian dishes like idli, dosa or upma.

Serving Size : 4 (for South Indian breakfast)

Prep ⏰: 3 mins | Cook ⏰ : 10 mins


Ingredients 1 cup roasted peanuts/ groundnuts

2 chillies ( red or green)

1 onion , roughly chopped

2 tbsp curry leaves

2 garlic pods

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1/4 tsp tamarind paste or 1/2 inch

1 tbsp oil

salt to taste



Instructions

  • In a hot pan, add oil then onions and saute them till they are golden brown.

  • Now add roasted peanuts, chillies, garlic, curry leaves, turmeric powder and about 2 tsp of salt.

  • Cook the mixture for 2-3 minutes and set it aside to cool.




  • Once the mixture cools down, blend it. Add tamarind, water (as needed) and blend it again to smooth consistency.

  • Store in refrigerator for a week and enjoy!
