Capsicum Podi Koora (Bell Pepper Curry)

One of the easy curries using koora podi (curry powder), this can be ready in minutes and works great with roti or rice !

Ingredients

1 bell pepper / capsicum, chopped ~1 inch in size

1 small onion, chopped

1 tsp mustard seeds

~4-5 tbsp koora podi* 1 tsp channa dal

1 pinch asafetida

1 tbsp oil

Instructions

  • In a pan, heat oil and add channa dal. Sauté till the channa dal is light brown.

  • Add mustard seeds, asafoetida and allow them to crackle.

  • Stir in the onions and sauté till they are golden brown. Add capsicum and cook for 2-3 minutes.

  • Sprinkle the curry powder and mix well. Cover and cook for few minutes or till capsicum is cooked well.

  • Turn off flame and serve hot ! Enjoy this delicious curry with rice or roti!
